Mount Vernon: This pattern contains instructions to crochet the colorful afghan pictured above. Mount Vernon - The one afghan made more than any other is the original old Mount Vernon. The crocheted squares may be joined together diagonally as illustrated, or straight, if preferred. It is a true classic. This pattern is from Minerva, vintage 1943. The afghan is made up of 284 squares; measuring 54 x 72 inches when completed. This is an excellent pattern to mix up and use all those bits of leftovers you have hanging around.
